Covid-19 Risk Assessments 2020
Terms and Conditions
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required for bookings (unless otherwise negotiated) that have been made over 30 days before your trip and the remaining course fees are due in full by 30 days prior to your trip. If you have booked within 30 days of your trip then we require full payment at time of booking.
- Cancellation by you.
If you cancel a booking with GreeneAdventures and give us 28 days notice or more, we will refund your course/activity payment less the 50% non-refundable deposit (or the pre-agreed negotiated deposit). If the cancellation notice is 14 days or less, we are unable to refund any of the fees. If your trip is ‘all inclusive’ and includes hotels arranged by us then we do not off any refunds after 90 days. Please contact us for further details.
- Cancellation by GreeneAdventures
Courses are planned for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 persons. If the minimum requirement of 2 persons booking is not met for the date you have chosen, then you will be offered an alternative group course date, credit to use on another trip, or a full refund if preferred. Should this situation arise we will contact you at least 5 days before your planned course date to discuss your preference. In the case of a 2 day group course you will also be offered one full day of individual tuition as an alternative.
- Activity Risk
Outdoor Activities, by their very nature, embody an element of risk. People have suffered serious injuries, have become very frightened and have died as a direct result of their participation.
Duncan Greene and anyone working for him will use all their experience and expertise to mitigate against these risks to protect you from physical and psychological harm. They will do this without removing the adventure and excitement from your experience.
It will never be possible however, to guarantee that all accidents are either foreseeable or preventable. Whilst such events are very rare, and have never happened on a Greene Adventures Outdoors course, you must accept this risk if you wish to take part.
GreeneAdventures carries full public liability insurance, but we recommend you take out appropriate personal accident and cancellation insurance for your activity/course. If you already have insurance, please check it covers you for the activities you will be undertaking with GreeneAdventures
- Personal Kayak and Equipment
All personal equipment including kayaks are the responsibility of the owner, we recommend insurance cover for your equipment in the event of loss or damage.
- Kayak Hire
Any equipment or kayaks that have hired from Greene Adventures must be returned to in the condition they had been received. You will be responsible for any damage or loss of equipment or kayak that you have hired. General wear and tear is acceptable however, any loss of kayak / equipment or any damage which renders the item unusable will be your responsibility to reimburse for the cost of the replacement. We recommend insurance that covers for loss or damage.
- Health, Fitness and Medical
You must have a level of fitness appropriate to the course or activity which you are booking. You must inform us at the time of booking, or as soon as the case arises of any medical or non-medical conditions that might affect your or any other participant’s safety and enjoyment. If you do not declare medical conditions form relevant to the course or activity being undertaken, we reserve the right to refuse your participation in the activity.
All courses and activities take place in the mountain environment where the effect of the weather can be particularly severe, even during the summer. The weather can limit what we are able to do, and client safety is our first consideration. There may be occasions where we are unable to complete a planned course or activity due to the prevailing weather.
- Clothing and Equipment
You must be properly equipped for the course or activity which you have booked. We will send you a list of clothing and other equipment required. Any client who is not so equipped may be excluded from the course or activity without refund of the fees paid.
Children (persons under 18) may only take part in activities with GreeneAdventures when accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
GreeneAdventures reserve the right to use any suitably qualified person to instruct on courses and activities. As a minimum such individuals will have a Mountain Leader qualification for mountain activities and appropriate BCU qualifications and experience for water-based activities.
