Isle of Gigha

Excellent paddling with beautiful sandy beaches and rugged cliffs with Kayaking round the island.

Isle of Gigha is a 3 day journey which includes 2 nights on a camp site and one wild camp.

This is a paradise Island and is about 2 1/2 hours drive from Glasgow to the Gigha Ferry in Tayinloan. This island offers excellent paddling with beautiful sandy beaches and rugged cliffs.

The last ferry departs Tayinloan for Gigha on Friday evening at 6pm and on Sunday departs Gigha for Tayinloan at 4.30pm.

This 3 day journey is aimed at those who can achieve paddling for 4-6 hours per day and also enjoy what else Gigha has to offer. It is expected that everyone will have sea kayaked before, but a high level of competence is not required. We would aim to improve people’s personal paddling and to enjoy this beautiful island.

It is possible to stay in one of the excellent B&Bs or self-catering cottages, let us know your preference.

This is an ideal journey for someone who has been on one of our beginner weekends and want to experience island sea kayaking from a comfortable camp site or B&B.

Lismore Castle 2012Lismore

Meeting at the lay-by on the A828 Port Appin, opposite Shuna Island 928492 for 9.30am We will load kayaks and head towards Lismore.

Lismore is a magical island with some fantastic Castles to visit. Day one will paddle down to the southern end of the island. Day two will head around the southern end of the island and start our paddle back towards the cars. Day three will see us complete our journey.

A great first expedition or a fantastic way for finishing off the summer.

Oban Weekend Bridge over the Atlantic

This journey is based around the amazing islands just south of Oban. With lots of coast line to discover and wildlife to watch, it is a beautiful scenic area for all to enjoy.

Meeting Saturday at the Arduaine Jetty where we will pack our kayaks and discuss options.

We will then paddle to the bottom of Luing, last time we were there we where watching otters feeding. The plan then is to paddle up to the island of Torsa and wild camp overnight.

Sunday will paddle along the east side of Seil Island and paddling under the bridge over the Atlantic. We will then paddle around the rest of Seil Island to Easdale for tea. Then onto the next wild camp site which is in the area of Port Mary. This camp site offers fantastic views with spectacular sunsets.

The Monday is a short paddle back to Arduaine jetty.

This is our plan A and is a little weather dependent. If the weather is very unkind we will use a camp site near Oban and offer 3, day trips from the site.

This is an ideal trip for paddlers who have completed one of our intro weekends.
